This one is perfect for the creative kiddos in your life! Create individual place settings with gingerbread cookies and cups of candy, giving each kid a personal stash to decorate their gingerbread pal. It’s edible art for the holiday season!
Supplies:
Pre-baked gingerbread cookies (we love the giant ones that can be purchased at grocery stores such as Whole Foods!)
Frosting in a tube (this serves as the “glue” for your gingerbread cookies)
– Marshmallows
– Chocolate chips
– Twizzlers or licorice
– Fun holiday-shaped sprinkles
– Sugar sprinkles (to act as edible “glitter”)
– Festive plates
Hot Cocoa & Holiday Card Making
What’s more heartwarming than receiving a hand-made holiday card? Help spread the love by hosting a holiday card making party! Kiddos can sip on delicious hot cocoa while crafting extra special cards for their family and friends.
Supplies:
– Blank cards, printer paper, construction paper, or cardstock
– Envelopes
– Markers, crayons, or other drawing utensils
– Fun holiday stickers
– Hot cocoa and plenty of marshmallows, of course!
Snowy Slime Workshop
Slime is great any time of the year. But here’s a special recipe for slime inspired by fresh-fallen snow. Have your little ones invite their friends over, break out the holiday tunes and mixing bowls, and get ready for a snowy sensory exploration!
Ingredients:
– White school glue
– Water
– Baking soda
– Shaving cream (the fluffy white kind)
– Saline Solution
– Mixing bowl
– Stirring utensil
Step-by-Step:
1. Combine ¼ cup of water with ⅔ cup of glue
2. Stir in about half a teaspoon of baking soda and a tablespoon of contact solution
3. Slowly add in shaving cream! Generally 2 cups or so can create a nice fluffy slime, but use as much as you’d like
Holiday Cookie Baking Competition
Baking competition shows are all the rage these days, so why not host your own for family and friends? Here’s how!
- Limited kitchen space? Keep it small and simple! Contestants can easily manage to bake in a single kitchen and oven by only making a few cookies each.
- Hosting for kids? You may want to use pre-made cookie dough, or make your own basic cookie dough in advance. The real artistry will come through in the mix-ins and decoration of each contestant’s cookies.
- Make sure your kitchen is stocked up with fun ingredients: cocoa powder and chocolate, sugar sprinkles, marshmallows, candy, cinnamon, yummy fruits, and food coloring.
Really want to WOW your kiddos with a surprise guest judge? Curated Care makes it easy to book your very own Santa to pay a visit to your party. After all, who is a better cookie judge than Jolly St. Nick?
