How to Make a Gingerbread House

Building and decorating a gingerbread house is a fun and interactive kids’ holiday experience that’s easy for all ages! To make your own, you’ll need:

  • Graham Crackers (6)
  • A cardboard “plate” to build on
  • White or colored icing
  • A piping bag
  • An assortment of candy for decorating

You can also buy a prepackaged Gingerbread house kit (amazon.com or bedbedandbeyond.com) that comes with all these necessities (and instructions!). Assembly takes less than an hour and the consumption is very satisfying!

Pro Tips:

  1. Make sure to spread your icing down on your plate to make sure your “walls” stick to the base
  2. Use colored icing to stick your candies, and white icing to mimic the appearance of snow
  3. Use multiple piping bags and cut the tips differently to make smaller or bigger sized openings to create different designs
